FAQ's

Questions - Are linens, towels, and paper products provided?

Answer - In order to keep our prices affordable, we do not include these items in the cottages. We do, however, leave a couple dish cloths and towels for the kitchen.

Question - Can we bring our dog, cat, etc. because they don't bark, bite, scratch, smell, or shed fur?

Answer - No pets allowed. Not inside or outside.

Question - When is the check-in time? When is the check-out time?

Answer - Check-in is Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Check-out is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Sometimes, a guest needs to leave a day or two early and you may be able to check in early.

Question - Is there air conditioning in the cottages?

Answer - No. The cottages are well insulated and seem to be considerably cooler than outside during the warmer days of summer. There is usually a breeze. Finally, it is very unusual for it not to cool down during the evening hours which makes it comfortable for sleeping. We have considered air conditioning, but since guests are coming in and out constantly during the day, the air conditioner would be running all of the time and our goal is to keep the price affordable.

Question - Do you have cable or dish network?

Answer - Yes. We do provide Comcast digital cable.

Question - Do you provide a VCR or DVD player?

Answer - Yes. We provide both a VCR and DVD player.

Question - Is there a fire pit?

Answer - Yes. However, we do not provide the wood. There are several places where it is sold nearby.

Question - Do you get good reception for cell phones?

Answer - Yes. Most cell phones work fine and have no problem whatsoever with reception.

Question - What is the lake like?

Answer - Wolf Lake is a spring fed lake. The water is very clear. The deepest area (on the other side of the lake) is about 40 feet deep. The area in front of the cottage is shallow with a very gradual drop off making it ideal for kids. The bottom is firm (not murky). One of the best places for fishing is right in front of the cottages. You don't have to go far to catch fish.

Question - What kind of fish are in the lake?

Answer - Blue-gill, sunfish, perch, large mouth bass, northern pike, walleye, bullheads.

Question - Is it an "all-sports" lake?

Answer - Wolf Lake has a "no wake" ordinance before 11:00 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. So, people are free to boat, water ski, jet ski, etc. during the day. However, in the morning and evening it is "better" for fishing, watching ducks, or spotting a green heron because there is less activity. We recently even videoed a bald eagle soaring around the lake for over 7 minutes. You will see pontoon boats, speed boats, sailboats, personal water craft, canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and paddleboats. We provide a rowboat and paddle boat with each cottage. You are welcome to bring your own boats. There is a public launch sight on the other side of the lake.

Question - Do you have a dock?

Answer - Yes. However, it is not for "playing on". It makes it easier to get in and out of the boats and to fish off of.

Question - Is there a beach for kids to play in the sand?

Answer - Yes. There is a very nice area for kids to play in the sand. Its about the size of a volley ball court and they will "have a blast".

Question - Do you have a picnic table?

Answer - Yes.

Question - Do you provide a grill?

Answer - Yes. We have a charcoal, propane, and electric grill.

Question - Do you provide boats?

Answer - Yes. We provide both a paddle boat and a row boat.
